Writing and creating this web series is hands down one of the best professional experiences I’ve had to date. Blessed to work with some of the most talented actors, directors, and crew out there, I’m so proud to share these funny little stories that draw from my own personal experiences as well as other women I know. This show gave me the opportunity to partner with my best friend both in front of and behind the camera once again. It was the first time since playing “Winne” and “Ashley” on USA High, that, my co-producer Kristen Miller, and I worked together. As if that wasn’t enough, we had Emmy award winning powerhouse Mary Lou Belli as our director for ep. 1-3, filmmaker Marc Cadieux for 4-10, and my father, Joe Terry another Emmy award winning director of Oprah, and The Steve Harvey Show, on board as an Executive Producer.
I make the joke that Jesus was my casting director because it was simply divine. I play Peyton Nicholson, wife and mother of two. As mentioned Kristen Miller (USA High, She Spies) plays Chloe, slight narcissist going through a divorce Jen Drohan, (Bones, Just Add Magic) plays Paige Turner, newly married, pregnant, and very “earthy crunchy”. We have Vinessa Antoine, as Peyton’s sister, law student Tracey Grant in episodes 1-5 until we lost her to to cast of General Hospital where she still continues to crush it as “Jordan Ashford”. She was replaced by Nefetari Spencer ep. 6-10 (Scandal, This Is Us) Richard T. Jones (Judging Amy, Terminator, The Wood) plays my husband RJ, and Dawn Joyal (2 Broke Girls, Girlboss) rounds out the cast as the lovable, Fernie.
Follow the women of “Work In Progress” along as they juggle marriage, pregnancy, divorce, and finding themselves in this female driven comedy about four, thirty something friends doing their best to “work it out” while living and working as budding stylists in Los Angeles. Get a feel for the show in the trailer below and then binge watch the series up on the site. Thanks so much, I so hope you enjoy my labor of love.
