Having family that works in “the biz” often has it perks. This time they came in the form of tickets to Knott’s Berry Farm during Spring Break, as well as the Boysenberry Festival. It was an extra special blessing because the kids cousins (my nephews) were visiting from Texas, and we all got to enjoy the park together.
The sun was shining brightly and we were ready for a day of fun!
The kids conquered some fears and rode some super fun roller coasters. The all around favorite was “Jaguar”!
It was unlike any theme park experience we’ve ever had because it was like stepping back in time. It was perfect because the kids got a sense of the things we’d just discussed in some of our homeschool classes around early settlers in California. There was even a little station where they could “pan for gold”, which is ripped right from the pages of our most recent lessons. Us, homeschool moms tend to find the learning opportunities wherever we can, and it’s always great when they’re so fun the kids don’t even fully realize its happening. Our time suddenly became a bit of a field trip thanks to all the historical things to see and experience.
As mentioned, it was Boysenberry Festival time. A celebration of all things boysenberry that happens every year. There were delicious foods, drinks, and treats of all kinds containing the famous Knott’s farmed berries.
We closed the place down, taking advantage of every ounce of fun we could. We’re so grateful to the kind folks at Knott’s Berry Farm who gifted us these tickets and made this unforgettable family day possible for us all. Below are just a few highlights of our Knott’s Berry Farm Spring Break fun day/field trip.
